When She Finally Looked My Way
When she finally looked my way I had to struggle to keep my heartbeat steady.
Feeble attempts were scoffed at, propositions shot down with poisoned arrows
Her eyes understood my gasps and they stayed hard, unimpressed.
Inconvenient infatuation, shackles around her ankles,
she has no time for love when she feasts on hearts.
My kiss is the key but she lives on death-row
not in my arms.
