Stage Fright
My stomach lies in knots
 Fingernails bitten till they bled
 Heart pounding in my chest

All I want is to rest
To give my racing pulse a chance to slow
 But I know
I have no chose but to wait
Till all eyes are on me
While I stand there wanting to flee

Hands forced into submission at my sides
Knees locked so you won’t see me shake
But deep down inside my body is screaming

Fantasying about flying out the door
 Want no more
 Of your attention

 The time is near
 My last chance
 Yet I take my stance
 Up in front
And my words begin their flow
