In my mind
Your words replay
A broken record of syllables
That collide in supernovas
Giving birth to black holes
That feed on my emotions
Until my heart is shattered
Like a window in a storm
Erupting in a furious dance
Shards cascade in deadly arcs
Only to fall useless
The floor’s glittering teardrops
I try to gather the pieces
But a shard cuts my finger
Weeping blood among the tears

This is a supremely lovely poem, born out of pain as you stated, but lovely for it. However, because I am at heart a complete grammar nazi, I feel the need to point out that it should either be "Shards cascade in a deadly arc" or "Shards cascade in deadly arcs". I mean no offense and obviously this is free form poetry (very well-done free form poetry) I just couldn't help but to pass along that little tid-bit, because I'm constantly finding similar things in my own writing. (Proof-checking is evil). Anyway, I love the poem and I really appreciate that you are so open to reading/commenting on other people's work without even expecting anything in return. So, to cut an extremely wordy comment short--I love the poem and what you do on this site. =)

This is such a wonderful poem, and I'm sorry your inspiration for it was so sad :( With this poem, you've turned pain into art, and that is so inspirational. Never give up and keep writing!

Your words show me that you're hurt. But I think, you are enough for yourself to conquer all the joy in the world. :)
When i was eight i asked my dad why he loved my brother more (i am adopted). He replied,"because he was here first" These few words broke my little eight-year old heart
