Same Sad Story
I give all my best,
It never means a thing,
They'll claim I top all the rest,
Just before leaving,
And shattering the inside of my chest,
So I pick up the pieces and wrap in duct tape,
But try as I might,
I can muster no hate,
For a part of my heart will always beat for you,
And from the pain on my face you know that to be true,
I seclude to myself,
A place I know well,
And try to survive this one-man hell,
My only treatment is your occasional smile,
As I pray that it will rest on me for a while.
