Charybdis
Charybdis
The swirling sea monster in Homer's
Sad post-war tale
The boat swayed gently, almost serenely
At first
But then , just like in life, the waters reversed
And the singing mermaids got their leery wish
Sailors captured by the sea
Got their first sea water kiss
Death all around
The eye of the storm only found
In the monster itself
Charybdis
