I knew that Death was coming.
It was late October.
All my fellow leaves were losing their green complexion.
So much as a small breeze could destroy our only source of life and nourishment.
The bodies of those less intent and strong covered the still-green, but ever-dying lawn.
I felt a small whip of wind.
The pain was great as my strongest and most important organ was pulverized and torn.
The wind carried me through an endless torture until I fell on the bodies of the other leaves.
My back broke, I died.
More leaves followed.
