Just a Friend
When it rains, it pours
I don’t want you anymore,
I can’t stand the thought of leaving,
But you’re walking out the door,
If you ever wanted someone,
I always hoped that it was me,
But you never looked at me that way,
Now baby I can see- that you never wanted me,
If I could turn back time,
And find a way to make you mine,
I wouldn’t hesitate a second,
I wish you were my Valentine,
But you don’t even call,
Or even notice me at all,
So I feel like I might fall- down,
Just leave me as I am,
My lights are growing dim again,
I can’t find the light as easily as before,
But you’re still there,
Watching me from afar,
Laughing, smiling, letting me down-
You live life carelessly as I fall to the ground,
Loving all the wrong ones,
Searching in the lost and found-
Now I have to leave so I can stand up on my feet again.
But even so, I love you through the end.
My heart just won’t bend
Cause I’m not flexible enough
To be a brokenhearted woman,
Just your friend.
