&quot; And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don&#039;t believe in magic will never find it.&quot; <br /> Roald Dahl

She had joy in her eyes
And flowers in her hair
As she watched
The oranges of the sunrise air
Her white dress drifted
In the breeze
In tune to the trees
And the leaves
She filled her lungs
With sweet scented air
That calmed her thoughts
And danced across her tongue
Her name was called
Frantically, desperately
Rain falling from his eyes
Father ran to her
Mother was gone
This all had to be lies
Her black dress lay still
In the stale air
Tears raced down cold cheeks
But father’s face was bare
Why is mother in the ground?
They went home
Father said nothing
Months went by
She felt alone
The house was torn apart
When she came home one day
Father stood in the center
The sight broke her heart
Anger like fire in his eyes
He lunged at her
Snarling like a dog
But no one heard her cries
He grabbed her arm
Made her black
And blue
He did her so much harm
Her throat was raw from screaming
He broke her skin
Covered her in red
Until she was unfeeling
He left her there
In her crimson covered dress
With sadness in her eyes
And dead flowers in her hair

I had the first two stanzas stuck in my head for a long time so I decided I make a poem out of them.

This is a very sad, powerful, and beautiful poem. Every idea you had flowed with such coherence. I especially like how you kept on referring to the color of her dress (white, black, crimson, etc.) that symbolized her purity, sadness, tragedy, etc. And the idea of the flowers in her hair really developed this poem. "With sadness in her eyes and dead flowers in her hair." What a twist. Keep writing!

I absolutely love the flow of this poem and the rythym. It's beautiful in a sad way.

Wow, this is a really strong poem. It almost brings tears to my eyes to read; I even find it a bit relatable.
