For you, a thousand times over.

bend ’round the corner
in mindless frenzy
and quicken your wispy
legs when god comes
around, pull faster
for master, for king and
for heartless queen, now cross
yours she says and hope
not to lie, now scurry,
keep in line and move
antenna wires, let me ask you
can you love me, little one?
don’t wait for the celestial
hand to snatch away what is left
of the leftover cat food and
certainly don’t watch when it kills
you.

run.

"The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do."
—Apple’s “Think Different” commercial, 1997
“Crazy people are considered mad by the rest of the society only because their intelligence isn't understood.”
― Weihui Zhou

The structure of this poem brings to mind Kay Ryan, but the emotion has Sylvia Plath written in RED bold all over it. The whole poem, I feel, is a metaphor on humanity and its feeling with the deities. Sometimes, we feel too small and insignificant for the Higher Being(s). He/she/they are up there, we're down here. Do they notice us? Can they love us? Will they just crush us? Who knows... I love how your poetry isn't superficially beautiful with your wording, but also meaningful, because each word was chosen specifically to capture an intense emotion and image.
