On the Lake
As the boat sped along
I saw a huge fish
The wind in my hair
And the water at my feet
The bluish green looking
dark and mysterious.
The murky blue lurking ahead .
I saw the dock all lit up .
Soon enough we make a stop.
When we dock the boat
we get off and swim.
We wear our life jackets
Like a diaper.
When the day is over
we eat a great dinner.
We stay up late, maybe
go for a swim
The next day we spend
Cleaning the cabin .
Wringing out towels
and vacuuming the sunroom .
We bring up the rafts
and pack up the life
jackets .
We take the wave runner
for one last spin, but then we
get sprayed and have to go in.
its time to leave ,
time to say goodbye.
say god bye to the lake and
come back next summer.
