Pay attention,
and you’ll notice
the people’s faces
all staring you down.
You’ll find that they
approach quickly,
and with a fierce intensity
of ghouls draining
out your soul.
You’ll wonder where
your mind disappeared to
during this development.
You’ll seek out their eyes,
their telling, blank face holes,
and you’ll become
suddenly frantic,
paralyzed, waiting
to be rescued.
No one comes.
So pay attention.
If you stop panicking,
and just look
closely enough,
you’ll realize why
they’re really there.
It won’t take long.
