Lion Man
       Of Africa, he was once king.
  His tousled mane finer than any crown and
  claws held no jewels, but scraps of meat and
  the prowling plane was his palace but
  poachers know how to hunt.
       Of Africa, he was once king
  Now he is in a cage.
  The crown has fallen, the mane is cut.
  Reduced to rationed meat and children’s stares.
  And to think, he once was a king.
