"Real eyes realize real lies"

the clearing in the woods, full of lush, green life

he stood in the middle of it, staring around, glare sharp as a piercing knife

it was all calm, and it was all swaying

it seemed as though the peace would last, but it wouldn't be staying

swaying in the light breeze, that blew the tall grasses

and the leaves off the trees

the sun was a protector, from the darkness, a protector of the day

but something stronger blew all the color away

and the moon creeped up slowly, and a darkness filled the sky

the plants seemed to whisper and the crickets seemed to cry

his name and his story, haunting his every thought

which he was reminded, that his wife was caught

by death, was grasped, with its cold, dark hand

his own mind was a cage, and his thoughts were banned

her sillouette appeared, in the depths of the
timberland

the faint moonlight on her face, she seemed to reach out her hand

it looked clearer, and he saw her blue eyes

the bright ones that darted wildly, covered in lies

he heard her voice, she yelled, and called

she sounded desperate, and with sad tears, she bawled

faster and quicker, her rattled calls started to lure

she needed help, and he quickly sped toward her

every step he ran, she drifted away

he didn't see the chasm, the price he would pay

he approached it and tumbled down

grasping the air, determined look to a frown

she was gone, his thoughts took over, he'd never see her again

the moon shined on, and this was the end.
