Favorite Quote:
If ever there was a time to follow your passion and do something that matters to you, now is that time.

I saw you, heard you,
I rushed to you, cried with you.
I’d swear I heard your heart break.
People come, apologizing,
For something they couldn’t change.
People ask how you’ve been,
But you don’t want to say.
My phone lights up, 2 AM,
I answer, of course.
You’ve been crying,
I can hear it in your voice.
It hurts, I know.
But I’ll never really know.
How you felt that night
When she slipped away.
I want to know
how you’ve been,
But I won’t reopen old wounds.
I just want you to know
that I’m there for you.
I’ll catch you when you fall.
This isn’t a sorry,
for I can’t change history,
It’s an answer,
A promise of hope.
It’s been a month,
A cold, dark month,
but yet, you remain yourself.
I just want to say one thing,
I’ll hope it helps a little:
Don’t get lost in the stars.

I was inspired to write this by my best friend. More specifically, her mom's death. My friend, who I will refer to as "E" for this, was never an outgoing person. She and I were both quiet, but we both loved to read and write. When we were in fifth grade, E's mom was diagnosed with melanoma, a deadly form of skin cancer. She just died last month after a two year battle. I'm writing this from the point of view of someone who was very close to someone who lost a loved one, like me. I'm writing this for people like me, who want to help their friends, but also for those who've lost someone, like E.
