Favorite Quote:
"I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love—
I and my Annabel Lee—
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
Coveted her and me." -Edgar Allan Poe

I’m looking for you just as lost ships desperately comb the horizon for lighthouses.
Their foghorns mute the crashing waves of despair surrounding their damnation.
That fabricated lighthouse could stay lit for those ship as long as time would allow.
However, the light I can give has enough illumination for the hour alone, and you seem to be farther away than words can recite.

Your mind is bleak and your body feeble.
Something tells me your essence is gone;
That the world has given up on you, that nothing can revive your abandoned psyche.
But I will stop at nothing to retreive you from the abyss.
If only I knew how to disperse the fog encasing your mind.

I can feel you slipping away like the tide leaving shore.
You smell of day old sheets; you look of nothing I’ve seen.
Disheveled hair that you never would’ve sported sits placidly atop your head.
Bland attire that provides the appearance of death garnishes your person.
Light breathing escapes your lungs as tears cloud my eyes.
A cruel reality prescribed this love and is now pulling the happiness away.

Who are you now?
Where have you gone?
What are you doing in that far away land?
When are you coming back to reality?
How long has it been since you’ve awayed?

There’s nothing more of you I can recognize.
The slow flow of time goes by and by.
Eyes closed and moving rapidly as if yearning for a lighthouse.
Promise to hunt for the glow of the love that keeps us both alive.

written with the intent to be about two lovers; one has gone into a coma and other has to wait for them to come out of it
