I an independent woman,

Now she seems to understand
That hookups are not true

Now I date who I want,
There's no shame in such,
So why do I feel empty
When the nights are full of lust?

Is it so wrong for me to wonder,
Why my phone isn't busy?
Yet the thought that I might need someone

I'm no better than the others,
In fact I think I'm worse,
Cause I hide the truth with pretty words,
Yes, vanitys a curse

What if I'm not good enough
To be a one and only?
I'll be as independent as I can,
But I won't lie, I'm lonely.
