Looking up at the popcorn ceiling
The dark carpet to hide stains
And the dull landscape paintings
Bad TV
I’ve got too many things not to do
There’s a certain high to this feeling
The rootless life
Leaves your mind grounded
Heart reeling
This hotel room is cut out of time and space
Got nostalgic boredom
And a home sweet home to chase
I never make friends
Before I leave them behind
Hitchhiker souls
Are the beautiful kind
