To think it was your laugh,
Something you used to do often.
It was beautiful, and light
Like fingers fluttering on a piano
At once it made my veins heavy
With dopamine and Adeline
At once it made me awake
At once it made me feel truly alive.
But, I couldn't be grateful
I wanted more.
So I asked.
I melted, I couldn't think right
I shook, and my throat went tight
You were polite.
You gave me no ill will.
But all that was went and fell.
I had to ruin it.
I had to be an agent of entropy.
I know that I can't go back
But I wish that we could.
But that’s the tune of a fool.
Now when I hear your laugh in the hallways
my blood goes dry and cold
And I go in to haze of recollection
With the hope that you will give me your reconciliation.
