keith
your breath curdles like steamed milk in the ice cold atmosphere
you hold the neck of the bottle
real close
and swig back state-of-the-art
expensive Vodka
or maybe it's one of those really cheap brands
I don't know
but we're swinging back and forth
on a rusted swing set
on a deserted beach
complete with silver sands
nothing bette
and you're telling me about
your life,
as I discuss mine, always
we're catching up
my legs pump the air furiously
my faded golden hair gleams like
the rust of the swingset bars
i don't know why it matters
but it does
every little inch i smile
every bat of my eye lash
every innocent wink
every conspiratorial glance
when people don't understand us
because we're best friendsand we get each otheralways

I have a very good friend(if my boyfriend is reading this lol, he gets silly jealous) and he lives in NY. Every time he frequents the place where I live, we hang out. And this piece is dedicated to him. He knew my father very well, as well as everything about me. We've always been close since that meeting four years ago when he thought I was my sister(we look very much alike), pulled into the parking lot of my apartment complex on his cherry red Ducati, got my number, and from that day on we were inseperatable. We don't always talk, as he and his girlfriend just had a baby, and since he lives all the way in Queens, and only owns a summer home out here, it's quite hard to navigate a close knit friendship these days. But whenever I need to talk or he wants to get in touch and BS like old times, we're always there for each other. I love you, dude. You're like a brother to me. This is for you!!
