The Ides Of March
It was a horrid day I shall regret
We made our decisions-our fate was set
We were to be wed on the Ides Of March
Which was the day I lost my sweetheart
She walked up the aisle beautiful as a rose
Immaculate perfection head to her toes
Skin fair as the moon, eyes like the sun
From my first glance she was the one
The Ides Of March-anniversary of our first date
From our first kiss she was my soul mate
We were spirits running free and wild
Settling down and expecting a child
Once we said our vows the church bells rang
And all the angels in Heaven sang
I said I do, and kissed my wife
The women of my dreams, my partner for life
But right after something went horribly wrong
Abruptly the angels stopped singing their song
She grabbed her heart and fell back
She was so happy she had a heart attack
I love you even though we are lost and apart
You will always be in the chambers of my heart
I will always remember the Ides Of March
The day I lost my beloved sweetheart
