Where I'm From
I am from race moorings,
Crisp air and messy hair.
I am from the Chill Grill and the Tipton hotel
both places I visit alone.
From concentration 64
no repeat or hesitation
From Folon, Feelin and Fay Fay
later changing it to katie
I’m from always being my self
and never knowing who that is
Long black hair to a short bob
From the mile we run at school
and the kids who raced it.
Huffing and puffing till it hurt
I’m from long plane rides
and the morning market
pirate movies, breakfast donuts and a warm cup milo
I’m from the smell of laundry as I ran past houses
soft, sweet and slended.
