“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
― Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

I learn as I breathe.
It is here to stay
and never to leave.
Knowledge is oxygen in the air
and I inhale it,
breathing through my
powerful nose
knowing another breath
won’t ever be the same.
I take in the wisdom
of the world
and keep it forever,
tucked in the blood
streaming through my veins,
squeezed between my intestines,
and hidden in the rolls of my brain.
It is here to stay
and never to leave.
I learn as I breathe.
