Worst Years
I’d see her in the mornings passed out on the couch
trying to wake her, she stayed still, like
a little bug hiding from prey
She started getting aggressive
Throwing frames with our family pictures in them,
hitting the walls, the
Glass shattering like my small heart
As he was dealing, she was popping pills in the other room
She was addicted, he was convicted.
Their love was fading,
growing further and further apart
they disapeared.
