Pandora Harbored a Box
Fabricated life and pilfered flames…
a not so thorough forethought,
leads to utter devastation.
Prometheus turns a blind eye,
revealing an eminent God who disapproves.
Angered, Zeus dispatched a woman…
cunning and deceitful, given beauty.
Struck by her vivacity,
Epimetheus couldn’t turn a blind eye.
Pandora was given a box.
Overwhelming curiosity ravages…
a box bestowed upon her, a box she cannot open.
Such contradictions lead to a light aperture,
releasing strife, sickness, and sorrow.
Pandora harbors a box.
Rapidly slamming the ajar box…
trapping what remains, a little too late.
Thinking, what’s left to release?
she deliberately releases the last article.
Pandora harbored a box.
A chance to cope…
why is the atonement that crushed what little we have,
also the reason we continue on?
Pandora brought devastation; nevertheless,
she gave us hope, and that’s enough.
