The Journey
Looking back now,
Seeing the way things were.
At the small things,
And how they impacted the larger ones.
Little more do I understand,
Of the follies I did.
They were but an act of ignorance,
Ones that I truly regret now.
They made me think bad,
Made my heart untrue.
I looked like a fool,
Compared to it now.
But time stole from me,
The only thing I want or need.
I fight for it back,
But getting close I enveloped in joy,
Loose grip and fall back down.
Learning from each mistake,
I climb higher in the chain.
On my way to the top,
But will I get there?
Or will time beat me,
Fighting each step.
Wishing each dream,
Hoping each ascension.
For the common desire.
Seeing it was the easier part,
But now getting there is the challenge.
