Where I'm From
I am from fruit juice, from Hondas, and bullies.
From the creaky old house with chipped paint
I am from the angry car that bit a hole in the garage.
I am from excursions through the woods
From the “click” of a camera, and frozen smiles
I am from the tedious expectations of a white collar family.
I am from the melody of rubber wheels slamming into cement
From the crack of bones, wailing sirens, and antiseptics
I am from torn shoes, tight jeans, and oversized shirts.
I am from discovery
From learning
I am from exploration.
I am from an overseer mom
From a caretaker grandma
I am from an addict father.
I am from rapid button clicks
From the rotation of joysticks
I am from the humming of the fan.
I am from hypocrisy, lack of respect, and dependence
From wishful thinking; to be different, to be better, to be ameliorant
I am from a Dad who taught wrong.
I am from skin breaking punishments
From bruises and scrapes
I am from waiting to be saved.
I am from strength
I am from perseverance
I am from fighting back.
I am going to freedom
I am going to justice
I am going to happiness
I am Logan T
