Where I'm From
I am from a domain of motivation–
“Just do it!”
“Don’t let your dreams be dreams!”
“Nothing is impossible!”
Determined and focused…
I am from the wooded camps of Long Lake–
where the sun relentless to shine,
where the water glistens under the summer breeze,
where the journey refuses to cease on the trail to Eagle.
Adventurous and cheerful…
I am from the hard-working sweat of service and sportful activity–
knocking down strikes, in both bowling and baseball,
playing street basketball in the scorching, sizzling sun,
freshly cut wood in the air.
Athletic and industrious…
I am from shining moments, years cherished–
roaring over the Aaron Rodgers playoff Hail Mary with friends,
winning our seventh grade baseball championship in boiling July,
talking friends and leaders in lush wilderness.
Excited and happy...
I am from scouting, where values matter–
“Be prepared.”
“Do a good turn daily.”
“Have a positive mindset.”
Helpful and courteous…
I am a Boy Scout looking to achieve the highest goal–
Eagle Scout,
soaring up over vigorous obstacles,
looking for the next opportunity.
Strong and confident.
