Rainy Day

A young child gazed up at the dreary sky.
They wondered why the sky wasn’t dry.
It always seemed to be raining
in their still, deserted town.
Nothing ever happened,
nothing made a sound.
The town was desolate,
and the child was too.
And suddenly one day, the sky turned from gray to blue.
Sunlight danced around the child as it cheered with joy.
And when a rainbow formed, a smile did too.
