The Forest Roamers
  So peaceful, gentle,
  content with whatever
  grows from the ground.
  You roam
  without worry.
  I shudder–
  to think of what might
  be your fate.
  A camouflage jacket,
  a covered rifle.
BANG!
  Blasted, cut
  down,
  for what gain?
  Antlers? Glory? Leather? Some meat?
  A carcass, spilling
  blood.
  An innocent life,
  taken for the use
  of another.
