A conversation echoes through the halls
Every echo grows louder
Yelling and crying seep in from the walls
She tries not to notice them
Plugs in her headphones
Just to drown it out
He was called "four eyes" by the lockers
Self esteem broken with words
Tasteless sarcasm paired with a curse
Bystanders tried not to care
Turn up the volume
To help drown it out
Reporters discuss the newest attack
In a large foreign city
Footage results in a sudden flashback
Of all the shootings before
Listen to the music
Fail to drown it out
