Hands are closing
round my throat
squeezing
choking
provoking me to bolt
I want to dash away
dash away
like all the reindeer
but the only thing I can do is stay
Words fall from my breathless lungs
my strangled throat
my empty mouth
my empty head
my empty body
“Help me”
I look down and all I see
is my own hands
choking me
