The Monkey
Just feet away he spied the over growing cliff
and faced his dreams— with courage.
With a playful mind
he hooted and hollered to his competition,
then into the wild he start to scramble.
Laughs.
Dozens of people came to watch from glass walls.
Reaching the top and not a soul in sight..
A lemur took up the score—so versatile was he,
then a baboon gave the final warning.
He straightened up.
He scanned the glass—
They smiled with approval.
He, content.
Everyone aside, the leader met the top,
in triumph
with yellow delicious prizes all for him.
