Reading Blue
Blue
The light shining down from the television screen
Illuminating your face
As you tell me all your stories
The hue in your eyes
Like rain
When you reach all of the bad parts
Because we’re entering
Forbidden territory
How did your eyes stay that blue
Even when you felt
like drowning
When no one was there
To let you know
That every single thing you do
is astounding
Blue
Like the waves
In constant motion
Fighting their own war
But they still lean in closer
Every once in a while
just to kiss the shore
Blue
Television light
The hue of your face as you finish your story
Gripping my hand
Holding me so close
As if I am now the one
That holds all the glory
Blue eyes
Exploding in excitement
Like right now is all we need
Blue
The greatest enticement
Because you know there is still so much more
We both have left to read
