Why Didn't I?
It’s been 37 weeks since I last saw your face,
Since I last heard your voice,
Since I last had my chance.
I should have kissed you good-bye.
It’s been 37 weeks since you told me to behave,
To do well in school,
And to stay out of trouble.
I should have kissed you good-bye.
It’s been 37 weeks since we had a conversation,
Since we had our quarrel,
Which unknowingly became our last.
I should have kissed you good-bye.
It’s been 37 weeks since you had to go out
And leave me all alone –
For good.
Why didn’t I kiss you that night?
