Scooters in the dark
Cigarettes and highlighter trainers
Like ruby ear studs
Headlights, traffic lights, candle, candle, candle lights
Spill in the sheen of the kitchen table
Fingers coil like crisped leaves
All jaundice and purple with the bite of it
Everything is flat
A town of paper and ironing boards
Outlines only thrown into dimension
By those reflector tags on school bags and cycle jackets
Pieces, pieces, pieces of me glitter
Washed up in the tide marks that the buses leave behind them on the road side
