A harvest moon
rising in the darkening night sky
A full moon, seeming bigger than the rest
A sign
that the autumn equinox is approaching
Equal darkness,
Equal light

A harvest moon
presenting itself in the autumn
as the leaves begin to change color
silhouetting the migrating birds
providing its light for the farmers
who depend on it for their fall harvest

A harvest moon
back-lit by the darkness
A shining star in the sky
sharing its light with everyone
