Claude Monet
  My body contracts,
  Rendering in perception
  When I breathe in morning dust
  That’s brushed my fingertips
  Time and time again

  And though I only live for death
  My given sly
  Oil eyes
  Calm down throughout
  Gaze into
  Blurred banks and tinted blues
  Of Claude Monet.

  Now Paris doesn’t seem
  So impossible;
  Maybe death
  Isn’t so permanent
  After all.
