summer night
the sand is cold.
but i dig my toes in and a new warmth encloses them.
the soft breeze sways to the music of the crashing waves.
it rustles the hair that wasnt quite long enough to fit in my ponytail.
it sends a little chill through me but my cozy sweatshirt keeps it from doing any damage.
it makes the long grass dance.
the moon illuminates the sky and blends with the lights reflecting onto the ocean from a passing ship.
the salty air is soothing and puts me in a trance, yet somehow everything is so clear.
all that matters is in that moment.
