Are you Listening?
Are you listening?
I scream and shout furiously...why don’t you answer?
Are you afraid to show me your true colors?
Are you hearing me?
I call out your name...do you know that it’s you I seek?
Are you enjoying your time in the paradise city?
Are you watching?
I drop down clenching my fists with agony...do you see me on my knees?
Are you watching reality TV with the volume on mute?
Are you caring?
I feel such pain...do you care to wrap your arms around my shaking body?
Are you holding back the urge to reach out to my flesh?
Are you remembering?
I reminisce 10 foot sunflowers...do you remember their earthy smell?
Are you paging through the photo album you buried when you left?
Or are you simply being?
I wonder immense wonders...do you join my blindside, whispering nothings in my ear?
Are you remaining a secret? Perhaps it is just until I join you...

This poem was written about my Grandmother who passed away after losing her battle with cancer, and how I wish I could still talk to her and receive answers.
