Gorgeous colors ignite
Large stretch of open space
Black rubber and white drawn lines
Heart beating fast, echoing
Nerves, excitement rises
The waiting drags on, endless
Waiting for a new season
Grass bending in the breeze
Running shoes waiting, patient
Focused, hardworking, strong
Quiet music playing out
Special, peaceful, unique
Ancient and historic love
Recognized by so many
Personal to the athletes
Running is my passion
Running is my life-blood
Running is my meaning
Running gives me purpose
