The Cycle
Look around
I notice it now
The hints I couldn’t see before
Now I know
I can spot it in a crowd
The tiger waits patiently
For a gap
When arrogance swells
Ready to attack
His claws are sharper than a knife
Tearing into my heart
The outside looks bright and sunny
But inside, a hurricane storms
Defeat
It waits for the opportune moment
When my guard is down
The tiger pounces
One bad day
Then I can rise
Take back the day
Prove my strength
Survival of the fittest
A voice, crisp and clear
Ringing sole on a dark, silent night
Healing the shreds
Saving the soul
Only victory soothes the tattered heart
