COMPARING
March 16, 2017
I sit in a circle
Surrounded by those half my age
Naïve and innocent children
Writing from what they know.
I have a hard time writing from experience
Because I feel naïve and innocent.
But then I am reminded by the young hearts
Of those beside me
They have not gone through what I have
So I should stop comparing myself
To those more experienced
Or those more naïve
And take myself for me.
After all that’s the best I can be.
