together MAG
we celebrated our
15th trip around the sun
together,
holding hands
as the sun went down again,
and soon
the spark it had left between us
died.
then we broke apart like
two asteroids looking for
destinations unknown,
one of two final frontiers
we longed to search.
but we longed to search
together,
and together we were
catastrophic,
wrecking chaos
taking up too much
space
in an infinite vacuum of
space
something you said was impossible
and I hadn't really thought about before.
unhealthy asteroids,
leaving bright red trails through the cosmos,
just you and me,
but now it's... just me
lonely, unhealthy asteroid,
looking for somewhere to crash
like a planet,
or a star,
or your couch.
