The Last Supper
The Last Supper
The time has come to complete My mission,
but first we must honor an ancient tradition.
To My disciples I say, “Go and make preparations.”
They do as they’re told, without complications.
The time has come for Me to say,
“I tell you the truth: one seeks to betray.”
The guilty one sweats as he sits nearby.
Trembling he pleads, “Surely not I, Rabbi?”
The time has come to bring out the bread.
It must not have yeast, not even a shred.
I break the bread. It’s crisp, not soggy.
“Take and eat; this is My body.”
The time has come to serve the wine.
It will remind you of Me as you dine.
I pour in a glass and let it flood.
“Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood.”
The time has come to complete my mission.
I must now go and pray to the Holy Apparition.
Remember this meal and honor it carefully.
“Do this in remembrance of Me.”
