Am I ready?
Mother thinks that I should take a gap year.
Sister thinks that I’m being dramatic.
Father thinks, well, I’m not sure because he wont tell me.
Am I ready?
My GPA says one thing while my ACT scores say another.
One shows effort while the other shows intelligence.
The first needs improving and the second is incredible.
Am I ready?
I hate this small town, but I love the people so.
Do I brave it out on the west coast or do I stay at home.
What about my parents? They’re the only home that I know.
Am I ready?
I’m only 17, but I have to decide what to do for the rest of my life.
How is that fair and just?
I can’t sign myself out of school but I can pick a career?
Am I ready?
The “preparatory” classes don’t leave me feeling prepared at all,
and even with all the AP’s I’ve taken I still don’t think it’ll make a difference.
How can I know what I’m heading into?
Am I ready?
I don’t know.
