Power Over Darkness
I bring joy.
I bring relief.
I bring power over darkness.
I don’t hide my color.
I don’t hide my flame.
I don’t hide my compassion.
I let others light me up.
I let others blow me out.
I let others use me.
I lose my spark.
I lose my power.
I lose my purpose.
I lose my magic.
My material.
My mind.
I become useless.
I become an unnecessary trinket.
I become my own worst enemy.
But candles can be renewed.
Their wax replaced.
Their flame reignited.
Candles can be helped back onto their feet.
They can spark back to what they once were.
I am a candle.
I bring power over darkness.

This was formed through another English assignment. Credit to my teacher for having candles all around her room. It gave me a great idea.
