Monsters in the Closet
They come out when it's dark
Like the monsters in your closet,
Underage and scraping for attention.
Beer cans,
Tight pants,
Lit joints,
Possessing the social media society.
Oppressors of temptations
Feeding on the weakest of generations.
Drugs are bad.
Underage drinking is illegal.
“Only one time can kill you.”
But it's a risk we take,
For the high,
For the appearance,
For the pain.
In the shadows
Behind the glowing screen,
I watch in horror.
Slowly devoured by the thought,
That it is just a matter of time
Till the monsters in my closet
Come out and find me too.
