The Devil's Wife
Flames consume us,
Yet the spark between
Has burned out.
And if it it ever flickered
The evidence has surely been scorched-
No doubt.
The light is darkened-
Eternally now.
I am a delicate blister.
Bubbling and boiling
Deep within his skin,
But no attention is paid-
Not to me,
Not to us.
My soul forever weighed.
He involves himself elsewhere
With the others,
The mortals.
Haunting and Tempting
Even the purest of mothers.
Lying.
Cheating.
Deceiving.
To whom I am bound,
Committed in sin.
Bathed, Slept, Woke
In Evil,
To Hell with the smoke.
Smoldering through life
As the Devil’s wife.
