Butterflies and Flowers
Blue skies,
And dark green grass.
Big bright eyes, and heels made of glass.
But red flags are being raised inside of my mind.
No problem here,
But there must be a problem somewhere.
This can’t be just irrational fear.
Butterflies and flowers
May be pretty,
But they make me sneeze
From allergies and give me a stomachache.
I’m not crazy!
Something must be wrong.
Someone must be dying,
‘Cause I still end up crying,
Even when things turn out right.
Emotions must be wind up toys,
Because I keep feeling the same way over and over again,
No matter what the situation is.
I don’t feel good
Even though it seems like I should.
This spiral of never-ending crap
Always clogs my neurotransmitters.
