my room
my room: a poem (of some sorts maybe?)
this.
in the dark, only dimly lit by fairy lights pictures.
placed on string and corkboard
mementos.
plants contained one cozy corner of my room
cozy.
my own personal space to fill as i desire
books piled high for me to read in the confines of my bed
colors.
splashed everywhere throughout, brighter than what I could have expected happy.
one of the spaces I truly feel happy and safe
bed.
filled with stuffed animals that protect me from the terrors of the night
a mess.
apart, it's beautiful but together, frankly it's a mess
memories.
that have been created in this room
memories that keep me up, glancing around smiling
change.
that has unfolded from the once bright pink walls
from little girl room to this mess here today
change that has unfolded all in front of me
and here i sit
alone.
but happy.
in my little
cozy
room.
